John Ennis...
A native of Pennsylvania, John Ennis' training as an
artist began in seventh grade, when he was given the
opportunity to study with artist and sculptor Joseph
Pavone of Bristol, PA. Later he would receive a Bachelor
of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute, College of
Art. He furthered his studies at the Art Students League
of New York, where he has since become a life member.
Here he received extensive training in figure painting
under the influences of Robert Emil Schulz, Jack Faragasso,
and privately with Michael Aviano, all students of the
late Frank Reilly.
While
still a student, John began painting illustrations for
the book publishing industry, an award-winning career
that spanned two decades with over one thousand book
cover illustrations to his credit. Recognized internationally,
his work has been published in over 26 foreign countries.
Returning
from New York in 1990, John is again a resident of Bucks
County. He works out of his Yardley studio painting
portraits of area resident, still life art and landscapes
of the surrounding countryside. As a fine artist, Mr.
Ennis has received numerous awards, including the Certificate
of Recognition from the Portrait Society of America.
He is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Allied
Artists of America, and Artsbridge. |
