Depicting the battle scene near Elkhorn Tavern about 4:00 pm, showing the Union 1st and 3rd Iowa Artillery, with their six-pound cannon firing on the 1st Missouri brigade led by Colonel Henry Little. Union forces in the battle were from Missouri, Iowa, Indiana and Ohio. Confederate soldiers were from Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas and also included two regiments of Cherokee Indians.
